Privacy Policy
We handle some sensitive information in this line of work: family situations, health details for LPAs, asset values. This page explains what we collect, how we look after it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy applies to Prime Key Wills and Trusts Ltd. Draft pending solicitor review before publication.
01: What we collect
Information we ask for, and why
When you contact us for a will, trust, LPA, or probate enquiry, you give us some personal information — typically your name, contact details, family situation, and basic facts about the assets involved. We need these to do the work properly.
For LPAs and probate we may collect health and medical details, or the details of someone who has died. We only collect this where it's relevant to the work you've asked us to do.
When you visit the site we collect some technical information automatically: IP address, browser, pages viewed. It helps us understand what's working and what isn't.
02: How we use it
What we do with your information
We use your information to answer your enquiry, carry out the work you've instructed, keep you updated, and meet our own professional and tax obligations.
We do not send marketing unless you've specifically asked us to. If you do opt in and later change your mind, you can reply 'stop' to any email or write to us at the address below.
Our legal bases for processing your data are: performance of a contract (when you instruct us), your consent (for any optional marketing), our legitimate interests (running the firm responsibly), and compliance with legal obligations (anti-money-laundering, HMRC, and record-keeping requirements).
03: Who we share it with
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for third-party marketing.
In the course of your matter we may need to share information with, for example, HMRC, the Probate Registry, the Office of the Public Guardian, banks or registrars, or a specialist solicitor we refer you to. We tell you before we do.
We use trusted service providers to run email, hosting, and document storage on our behalf. They process data only on our instruction and under a data processing agreement.
04: Your rights
Your rights under UK GDPR
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct mistakes, ask us to delete data where it is no longer needed, object to certain uses, and ask us to hand your data over in a portable format.
If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would prefer you to tell us first so we have a chance to put it right.
To use any of these rights, email hello@primekeywillsandtrusts.co.uk. We aim to respond within one calendar month.

Retention
We keep client files for the period required by our professional body and by HMRC — usually at least six years after the end of the matter, sometimes longer for trusts and probate records.
If you contact us but don't go ahead, we delete any enquiry data within two years unless you ask us to keep it sooner.
